Hello coaches! We just wanted to give a quick update and check in the middle of the ongoing Pokémon GO Halloween 2021 event. We are currently in the middle of the second part of the event, called Ghoulish friends.
Halloween events are usually a great opportunity to do bag inventory and manage Pokemon storage, and this year’s event is also a chance to strengthen your Trainer Battles roster.
Here are some things we are working on right now and we think you could benefit from knowing. Just as a reminder, these are the currently active Candy bonuses:
- 2 × Transfer Candy
- 2 × catch candy
- 2 × Hatch Candy
- Candy XL guaranteed when walking with your friend
Take as many Trevenant as you can
Trevenant
Trevenant is making a big statement in Trainer Battles right now, making tectonic changes to the Great League and Ultra League meta. Outperforms most Water, Grass and rock Pokémon, with enough bulk to defeat Azumarill most of the time.
If there’s one Pokémon that you should take a look at right now, it’s Phantump and its Trevenant evolution. You can get double the Candy with anything you make, so take some time to grow some good Trevenants for GL and UL.

As for raids, Trevenant is not relevant at all, but for Trainer Battles, you are looking for something quite special.
Stay on top of Hoopa’s special investigation
For most of us, keeping up with special research can be a daunting task if you have several at the same time. However, Hoopa’s special research, Pokémon GO’s poorly understood Hoopa Mischief guide, tasks, and rewards need some special attention, as it has 16 stages and is quite long.
Try to stay on top of this as much as you can, as some stages get much more difficult to complete outside of the event windows.
Pokemon storage cleanup
Every year, I perform the same cleansing ritual before the December events. Just transfer everything you don’t need. Pokémon GO November 2021 brings a lot of pressure towards your Pokémon storage (Shinx CD!), And it is always advisable to use the 2x Transfer Candy to clear your inventory.
If you’re like me, you’ll probably be doing a bulk transfer on October 30, so be careful not to forget to transfer something before the Halloween event ends.
Get a Mega Absol
This is one of my fan favorites, so this tip is a bit skewed, but try to get a Mega Absol while it’s available. It is white, majestic and amazing. Our Mega Absol Raid Counter Guide is available and ready to go.
