Remote Raid Pass celebration is bringing familiar faces to Pokémon Go

After announcing the deployment of the new remote raid passes today, Niantic has made another announcement: To celebrate the new ranged raid feature, three legendary Pokémon will return for a limited time to Five Star Raids. The legendary Pokémon Darkrai, the legendary Giratina of modified form and the legendary sword of justice Virizion will return to Five Star Raids for a week each.

  • Darkrai: Tuesday April 28, 2020 at 1 p.m. until Tuesday May 5 at 1 p.m. PST.
  • Altered Forme Giratina: Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 1 p.m. until Tuesday, May 12, 1 p.m. PST.
  • Virizion: Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 1 p.m. until Tuesday, May 19 at 1 p.m. PST.

These three Pokémon have the potential to be brilliant, and DarkraI has remained one of the top ten attackers in the game since its introduction. Niantic pointed out that all players should always follow all local health authorities when playing Pokémon Go, and especially for those in rural areas, these raids may not be possible, even if players can get close enough ‘a gym to participate. However, for many who are just out of reach of gyms and live with or near other players, it is a chance to finally return to raids.
