In 2021, Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto presented players with the biggest challenge yet: collecting all 151 Pokémon from the original. Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue. Now the Pokémon Go Tour returns and this time players will be able to catch, hatch, trade, loot, and evolve all Pokémon in the Johto region. What is Pokémon Go Tour: Johto?

Pokémon Gen 2 Starters

A celebration of all things Johto, the Pokémon Go Tour: Johto is a one-day event that will give players the opportunity to add all species of Pokémon from the Johto region to their collection. Every Gen II Pokémon will be available to catch, hatch, evolve, or trade, and for the first time in Pokémon Go, all of their Shiny variants will also be available. This means several new Shiny variants, as well as the return of all previously released Shinies, and another shot at the mythical Pokemon, Celebi. Not only will all Gen II Pokemon be available, but players who collect them all will earn an all-new Masterwork Research line.

When is Pokémon Go Tour: Johto?

Pokémon Go Tour: Johto will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time. Players will have exactly 12 hours to catch, hatch, battle, trade, and evolve all species of Pokémon originally encountered in the Johto region of Gen II.

The following Pokémon will have their shiny variants available for the first time in Pokémon Go:

Two different versions

Just like Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto, Pokémon Go Tour: Johto will have two versions. Players can choose between the Gold version and the Silver version, depending on pokemon gold and Pokemon Silver. Whichever build you choose will determine which Pokemon are most likely to be attracted to Incense and which will have increased Shiny rates.

Gold Edition

If you select the Gold version, the following Pokémon will be attracted to Incense:

The Pokémon Go Tour: Johto will feature a lineup of Gen II Pokémon in all-day Raids, including Legendary and Region Exclusive Pokémon. During the event, players will be able to challenge the following Pokémon in raids:

Pokemon Go Celebi

Pokémon Go Tour: Johto will feature an all-new Special Research line that will reward players with an encounter with the Mythical Pokémon, Celebi. This will mark the third Celebi players in Pokémon Go will be able to catch and it will experience an event-exclusive move.

Timed search

In addition to the special search, timed searches will be available. The Timed Research: Johto Battle League line will be available to ticketed and non-ticketed players, and will reward players with encounters with Raikou, Suicune, and Entei.

Collection Challenges

Pokémon Go Tour: Johto will feature several collection challenges. There will be challenges for each of the habitats rotating hourly, along with five additional challenges. These collection challenges will only be available to players with a ticket:

Players who complete the Special Research during Pokémon Go Tour: Johto will unlock the second Masterwork Research line. Like last year’s Masterwork Research line: All-in-One #151, this research is designed to be completed over an extended period of time.

Additional bonuses

As if all that wasn’t enough, there will be plenty of bonuses during Pokémon Go Tour: Johto for players with tickets and those who don’t purchase tickets.

Players who buy a ticket will be able to take advantage of the following bonuses:

Live Events for Pokémon Go Tour: Johto?

Players in select cities will be able to purchase tickets for an additional live event: Return to Kanto. Tickets are available for US$25 or the local equivalent. This event will take place on Sunday, February 27, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time in the following cities:

  • Monterrey, Mexico at Parque Fundidora
  • Kaohsiung, Taiwan at the Taiwan Lantern Festival
  • Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates at Yas Bay

Players who participate in this bonus event will receive the following benefits:

  • Real-world themed habitats, each presenting its own collection challenge
