Hoopa in Pokémon Go?
Gamers around the world were quite surprised during Pokémon Go Fest 2021 and Ultra Unlock Part 3, when the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa brought back every Legendary Raid, and then Sword and Shield mascots Zacian and Zamazenta, a entire generation ahead of schedule. Now players will have the chance to meet and capture their own Hoopa.
In the base games, Hoopa is a Mythical Pokémon with two forms. The first form, Confined is the one we encounter now, but it is only a matter of time before the Unbound form is introduced. So far, Pokémon Go has treated different forms as almost completely separate Pokémon. Take Giratina for example: both use the same Candy to light up, but they have access to different movements and you can’t switch from one shape to the other. However, the dataminers have suggested that a shape shift may be coming.
The Confined Hoopa is psychic and phantom type, while the Unbound Hoopa is psychic and dark. While most players will want to add Hoopa to their rosters, if only for the Pokédex entry, Unbound Hoopa’s strike makes it the more useful of the two. Regardless, the Confined and Unbound Hoopa are Glass Cannons, and unless players have the chance to catch more than one, its Mythic status means you’ll have to rely on luck. to get good IV.
