Pokémon Go: How to obtain Mime Jr

Mr. Mime’s baby, Mime Jr, has arrived in Pokémon Go. But you may not know it if you don’t live in Europe and aren’t a regular hatcher. Mime Jr can only be obtained by those who are in a very specific geographic area and who hatch eggs, and the rest of us are unlucky until there is an event that door to everyone.

Here’s everything you need to know about Mime Jr and his regional egg friends in Pokémon Go:

How to get Mime Jr in Pokémon Go?

There is currently only one way to get Mime Jr in Pokémon Go, and that’s thanks to the World Tourism Day egg event, which started on September 26 and seems to be going on indefinitely. . Mime Jr is available in 5 km eggs obtained from Poke Stops in rotation in Europe; in the same regions its evolution Mr. Mime is available.

Can you catch Mime Jr. or M. Mime in the wild?

Mime Jr cannot currently be fished in the wild and is limited only to eggs. Mr. Mime can still be caught in the wild, but he is also only in Europe, as he has been from the start. Mr. Mime was available from 7 km eggs for a limited time last year with his regional brothers Tauros, Farfetch’d and Kangaskhan, but this event passed and returned to Europe-exclusive.

Do you have to be located in Europe to get Mime Jr?

You do. Mime Jr will not be hatching eggs obtained elsewhere at this time.

Can you hatch Mime Jr from a 7 km egg obtained from someone in Europe?

You can not. Mime Jr only hatches from 5 km of eggs at the moment, although he can go to 7 km of eggs all the way.

Will Mime Jr one day come to other regions?

Currently, it is unknown. Mime Jr is a frustrating exclusive because it is a “baby” Pokémon which cannot be caught in the wild, but it is not an evolution where if you had won a M. Mime at the recent event, you could make it evolve independently of Region. We may see Mime Jr coming overseas following a special event later in the game, but for now, you will need to be able to go on vacation to get one.

Updated in May 2020: Updated the list of Pokémon exclusive to the region to include several new generation 5 monsters.
