Niantic comes from announced a whole new type of event coming to Pokémon Go: a mastery of grips. On October 25, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time, trainers will be challenged to catch as many Ghost-type Pokémon as possible, especially the Ghost Balloon Pokémon, Drifloon. Drifloon will spawn at an increased rate and also see his shining form released and strengthened. The Catch Mastery: Ghost event will also feature a special timed research line, as well as event-exclusive field research tasks that will grant encounters with Ghost-type Pokémon, as well as the first chance to collect gold. Additionally, coaches will earn bonus EXP for making Nice, Great, Excellent, and Curveball throws while mastering catches.
