Trainers, Recent Reddit User mgaguilar noted that Niantic has rescinded its earlier statement that the distance you can interact with Pokestops will be NO it will be a permanent addition and will eventually return to the original distance, but not for the foreseeable future.
You can see this here.
Understandably, there was a bit of a backlash for this, as the Reddit post had nearly 4,000 upvotes and 700 comments in the last 15 hours.
Niantic originally announced that while certain bonuses, such as hatching distance reduction, would return to normal, some would remain, such as Pokestop distance.
Here at the core, we understand that this was one of the many Quality of Life enhancements that Niantic made to the game to make sure the game was more accessible and more importantly safer to play during the current pandemic. But what does this mean for the gamer? -base once the bonus ends?
There was an official comment from Niantic on the subject that said:
“Hello everyone, sorry for this! It was a mistake on our part that we classified it as a permanent change on this page before. We changed it so that it is now correctly in line with our previous blog post. Nothing has changed for our plans with this bonus. With that said, we are reading the feedback here and making sure our team listens to your feedback. “
When the change will go into effect has not yet been said, but we will assume it will be once the pandemic risk has been reduced considerably.
What are your thoughts on the previous Trainers? Would you like this bonus to remain permanently? Let us know in the comment section below.
