GO Battle League has been the talk of many Trainers lately as a sudden and unnecessary nerf to the Stardust rewards was Cut in half without any mention or official reasoning by Niantic.
As expected, the PvP community he was outraged when this was discovered and exposed. Many even considered dropping GO Battle League as a way to attack until this issue was resolved.
The problem and the reaction
It is arguably one of the hardest resources to obtain in Pokémon GO, Stardust, was recently cut by a huge fifty% in GO Battle League for no reason. This took everyone by surprise, even those who do not participate in GO Battle League were upset by this unnecessary change.
Many people reached out via social media to express their frustrations and as a way of trying to get an official explanation of Niantic including many influencers like ZyoniK for example, who made a mighty Youtube video expressing their opinion to reverse this change.
ZyoniK makes several strengths in this video, including analyzing how a company must endure a certain level of trust in order to maintain a positive relationship within its player base that most agree with.
Removing this trust negatively affects not only the player base, but the company as well. The fact that this change was sudden and without a single word of Niantic is what made this problem even worse than the nerf itself.
Update and compensation
A few days passed without news of Niantic…
Finally, in 6/9/2021, Niantic broke his silence and sent an official message to his GO Battle League Season 8 Page what did he say:
“Trainers, we have increased the Stardust rewards for GO Battle League to match the amount awarded at the end of Season 7. The initial reduction was an oversight, and we apologize for the inconvenience it caused.
To make up for the Stardust lost in the first week of the season, we’re increasing the Stardust rewards from the end of Season 8 to double the amounts from Season 7. We want to thank the GO Battle League community for noticing this. mistake and get our attention quickly. “
This was a huge win for the PvP community and shows that our actions do indeed impact the game. In this update post, we can see that this error was caused by an oversight.
Regardless of whether or not you are satisfied with your explanation of the issue, we will be granted twice as much stardust given in the end of season as compensation for this mistake.
The amount of Stardust you receive in the season 8 finale will be calculated by the highest rank that you achieve during this season.
With that said, do not forget use a Star piece at the end of the season, as you will get an additional fifty% more Stardust Above By Niantic bonus amount, that’s a lot of dust!
The fact that we, as a community, can voice our opinion and fix this issue is a step in the right direction when it comes to the relationships between the company base and the players.
If there’s one thing I took from your official announcement, it’s the fact that Niantic he apologized for this. Many Trainers wanted a simple apology that they gave us. .
Although it is just a word, it is a way of admitting your mistake and it is amazing to see this from the company.
We can only hope that mistakes like this don’t happen often. However, I personally feel that your response was reasonable and the compensation was sufficient.
We would love to hear from you. Do you consider this to be sufficient compensation for self-admitted carelessness? Let us know in the comments.
Until next time, stay safe and happy hunting!
The publication Niantic apologizes for the reduction of Stardust from GO Battle League and announces that the compensation appeared first in the Pokémon GO Hub.
