Niantic announces Pokémon Go Community Day candidates for September and October

Once again, Niantic announced that players will select the next Pokémon to present on Pokémon Go Community Day. To date, several Community Day Pokémon have been selected by players, including Weedle, Rhyhorn and Gastly. While Niantic has not confirmed how players will vote, it is likely that there will be another Twitter poll where players can vote for one of the four Pokémon. Niantic has also done field research in the past, but it appears Twitter polls are preferred.

Niantic also did not announce details of exclusive Community Day moves, but the announcement included all four possible Pokémon. Trainers can vote for Caterpie, Charmander, Porygon or Grimer. Of these Pokémon, Charmander has been featured in a Community Day before, but it’s also a fan favorite and the only Pokémon featured whose final stage can Mega Evolve. Charizard is also one of only two Pokémon to have multiple Mega Evolutions: Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y. Mega Evolution is coming to Pokémon Go soon, so if Charmander is selected we might see its Community Day used to showcase this new mechanic. of game.
