Niantic announces March Pokémon Go Events

Despite yesterday’s news that the Pokémon Go events of Sunday, March 1, 2020 have been canceled in Japan, South Korea and Italy, Niantic today announced the Events for March and the list is quite impressive. Coaches will have plenty of opportunities to add a number of legendary Pokémon to their collections with legendary special raid weekends, Thundurus taking control of the five-star raids and Giovanni capturing Entei.

Starting March 2, 2020 at 1 p.m. PST, Thundurus will resume the Five Star Raids. So, trainers, if you haven’t caught Tornado, you only have two days left! Thundurus, the Bolt Strike Pokémon is a legendary electric and flying type which, along with Tornado and Landorus, constitutes the Forces of Nature trio.

To facilitate this task, on Saturday March 7, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time, another takeover of the Team GO rocket will take place. Meanwhile, Team GO Rocket will control almost all PokéStop! During the takeover, coaches will also be able to use TMs to modify the charged movement of any Shadow Pokémon.

In addition to many other Psychic Pokémon, the Pokémon Solosis the Cell and the Pokémon Gothita Fixation will be available during the day and the evening respectively. These two Pokémon will be available in the wild and in 5 km eggs after the event.

There will be Pokémon Spotlight hours every Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. local time, and mystery bonus hours every Thursday at 6 p.m. local time.
