Niantic announces fully-virtual Pokémon GO Fest, July 25-26

Niantic has just announced that Pokémon GO Fest will take place from July 25 to 26 as a full virtual event.

In a press release, the company said:

In 2019, our Pokémon GO Fest range was our biggest celebration to date. We have organized events in Chicago, Dortmund and Yokohama, bringing together 600,000 trainers for special summer events.

We will be bringing back Pokémon GO Fest on July 25 and 26 as a brand new global event completely redesigned in a virtual format. The adventures of Pokémon GO Fest arrive directly to coaches and districts around the world so that everyone can participate from home.

The new Pokémon GO Fest event will be a two-day experience, and because its virtual trainers can participate on both days! Niantic also says it is taking steps “to make tickets available to as many trainers as possible.” The outing continues:

This year’s Pokémon GO Fest is designed from the ground up to connect trainers like never before. Although we missed celebrating together in a beautiful park, we found new ways for the community to connect and team up that we will be deploying over the summer. It will be an exciting weekend for the whole family, with new experiences, gameplay and surprises throughout the event.

New The Pokémon GO Fest website is now online, and you can stay tuned there and at the Pokémon GO blog for more details.
