Trainers, a new Shadow Pokémon mix is taking place in Pokémon GO during the Festival of Lights. Team GO Rocket leader Giovanni returns to Pokémon GO, this time with Shadow Lugia and new Pokémon Shadow across the board for the entire GO Rocket team.

Starting at 12:00 am local time on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, Team GO Rocket will use new Shadow Pokémon. Full details on the new features and bonuses are below.
Giovanni returns to Shadow Lugia and plans to capture Hoopa.
Team GO Rocket has decided to take over the Festival of Lights, whose goal is to capture and use Hoopa’s powers for nothing. It seems likely that Giovanni was watching from the shadows the entire time, studying Hoopa as we found out as well.
Giovanni is back to lead this mission, as discovered in a recent data mine, and it appears that TGR has managed to catch more Shadow Pokémon, including a new Legendary Shadow Pokémon: Lugia.
