Breaking news
FleeceKing and LaurenLolly have been reported as the first 2 people in the world to reach Level 50!
This monumental event in Pokémon GO happened on 01/26/2021. Massive congratulations to these 2 coaches for achieving this incredible goal.
These 2 coaches managed to get a huge 999 excellent shots to complete the final task at level 50 and it happened live on the FleeceKing Twitch channel. Soon after, Lauren managed to achieve this goal by crowning them with the current levels of King and Queen of Pokémon GO.How the heck did this happen?
It all started with a huge bug on behalf of Niantic that included a progress reset for all players in the ocean region who managed to reach level 48 this week.
After an 8-week long shutdown, the trainers reported that their hard-earned progress to Level 49 had been restored due to this bug.
Many hardcore trainers who took time off today specifically to work on their progress to Level 49 are outraged that their efforts have been wasted without any compensation from Niantic.
As of yet, nothing has been announced by Niantic on this, however reports have indicated that only these 2 lucky trainers have received compensation for this. Instead of refunding them for their current progress before the reboot, Niantic support raised them to Level 49 instantly.
There have been no other reports besides these 2 trainers who have managed to get any luck with Niantic’s support.
As you can gather, the majority of the player base that reached level 48 are outraged and are still waiting for an official announcement from Niantic.
From these screenshots provided by a friend of mine, Loriesaur, we can see the before and after images of the tasks and lost progress.
On a more positive note, we have now confirmed details about the final tasks required to reach the great Level 50. These tasks include a plus 30 million XP, 999 excellent shots, 5 legendary captures followed by legendary encounters, 3 Team Go Rocket Leader wins with Pokémon below 2500CPand hit Rank 20 in GO Battle League.
We can also see the level 50 challenge that becomes available after achieving this goal which includes Make 500 great curveball throws, Visit Pokéstops 15 days in a row and Make 5 excellent shots in a row. The Encounter Pokémon has yet to be revealed, but time will tell (fingers crossed for Kecleon).
What can I do if my progress has been reset?
The best thing to do is to contact Niantic in-game support by going to Settings and scrolling to “Get Support” and then pressing the Message icon at the top right of the screen to start a new conversation. Provide a detailed report, such as approximately what time this reboot occurred for you and mention the amount of progress you made previously. The more information, the better to hopefully make up any lost progress.
Another suggestion would be to contact Niantic support directly by tagging @NianticHelp on Twitter and explaining this issue to them.
Parting words
One way or another, trainers will now race to level 50 and will have in mind the motivation of FleeceKing and Lauren to overcome the final hurdles to achieve this goal.
Will you reach the highest level in Pokémon GO and finally stand out from the rest?
Good luck, coaches! and remember to stay safe.
