Hello coaches! Pokémon GO 0.197.0 is rolling out slowly, looking for tags and XL candy, additional egg help dialogs, screenshot editing tools, oh, and something about a subscription …
What? There are no official release notes yet. Please read this data mining report with a grain of salt. We have no idea what the subscription code refers to, or whether it really is a subscription in a traditional sense or frankly.

Pokébox Search

With this update, Trainers will be able to search for Pokémon using the tags they have created. So if you have a “Start” tag, just type “Start” in the search bar and all your Pokémon that have that tag will appear. I, for one, am very excited about this.

The search term “candyxl” will show any Pokémon that have passed level 40.
Feather dance

Animation has been added for the Feather Dance move, but the move itself has not. So you can see the feather dance, but you can’t really … dance with the feathers?
Extra help with egg

Some dialogs have been added for additional help with the egg. This is probably to display the previously discovered egg transparency texts.

Subscriptions

A new library for in-app purchases, speculation is related to subscription service based on code location.

The subscription service appears to be a new item that will be available in the store and has several different statuses. It looks like there will be a free trial and the ability to set up automatic renewal.

This is all part of the in-app purchases section, probably a revamp of some of the backend stuff in the store.
Conclusions and speculations
Subscriptions are coming in, it’s just a question of when right now. There are a lot of different directions they can do with this, so it’s hard to say whether or not they’ll be worth it until they go live. I know there is a large part of the Pokémon Go Community that is not happy with the prospect of subscriptions, I hope they do not come out with subscriptions that give exorbitant rewards.
We also don’t know how much they will cost or for how long you’ll be able to subscribe before having to renew. Or what will be included, I imagine that the tickets for the community day will be part of the subscriptions, but beyond that, it is too early to tell. On another note, being able to search for tags in your Pokébox is awesome, it’s something I wanted immediately when the tags were released so I’m really glad to see it added.
