0.191.0 APK Breakdown Update: More on Level 41+, Pokémon Home, and others.

Hey Coaches, the PokéMiners have come up with a few more details on a few things in the latest Pokémon Go update. More details on how to level up after 40, new types of missions, more HOME updates and more. You can read our article on the initial APL breakdown here: APK Breakdown 0.191.0: Level 41+, Gen 6, Pokémon Home Support, and more.

🚨⚠️ Disclaimer ⚠️🚨

Please note that everything posted here has been publicly reported by data miners (PokéMiners). Information shared through these channels is not affiliated with or endorsed by Niantic and is always subject to change. Don’t take it for granted, functions change and are removed all the time. It is very important that you know that these things CAN AND WILL CHANGE. Additionally, this article contains my thoughts and opinions regarding the code that was shared online; All of these should be treated as guesses, not hard statements. If you agree with that, feel free to read on. Possible spoilers ahead.

Level 41+

The rewards that were data mined a while ago have been officially added to the APK. As a reminder, here they are:

0.191.0 APK Breakdown Update: More on Level 41+, Pokémon Home, and others. 3

Maximum level

A new statistic has been added to your player stats. This could suggest that your max level will be limited until you complete the missions to unlock the next level.

Level search

This was found in the initial teardown, however the mission has now been found to reward the previous level_cap.

Mission updates

Non-narrative missions

Looks like a new way of searching was added, maybe a way to do some special research that Professor Willow didn’t bring us?

Story line prerequisite

A new precondition has been added to be able to start a mission, which means that certain missions will need to be completed before Trainers get new missions

Last window?

Added a new search statistic similar to the requirement for days in a row, it refers to a value of LastWindow. The PokéMiners aren’t sure what exactly it is, so we’ll have to wait and see.

New GBL cup formats

Two new conditions have been added to GBL Cups.

Timestamp condition captured

This has a date range, so you will have to use Pokémon caught between certain dates.

Some communities have organized PvP tournaments like this, give trainers an hour or a few hours to catch the Pokémon they can use in the tournament. It will be interesting to see how far in advance we receive these and how much time we will have to catch Pokémon before the cup begins.

Level range

That is exactly what it sounds like. All Pokémon used must be between two levels.

This will also be interesting, it will really ruin the meta. Especially if the level gap is small, say 20-25.

XL caramel

Apparently XL Candy has been in code for a while. However, it has received a ton of updates that make it usable.

  • It is structured like a normal candy, each Pokémon will have its own
  • Can now be rewarded with missions.
  • It can be a standard loot item. (GBL, Pokéstop, etc.)
  • There will be a minimum level

Pokémon Home

Pokémon starter article

A new item called Pokémon Home has been added. This is probably the transporter that was found earlier. It has an on / off function, so it will work similar to the camera.

Two new obfuscated fields have been added to each Pokémon’s stats / data, a switch and a number. Maybe a switch to determine if the Pokémon can be transferred and something else?

The Game Master also received some updates. Home energy costs, home setup, and home shape reversals. Starting Shape Reversals are speculated to refer to Pokémon that require items to change items. They will return to their original forms when they are submitted to Home.

It also seems, contrary to my speculation, transferring Shiny Pokémon to Home won’t cost more.

Tagging and Search

The tags appear to contain an id, a name, a color, and another hidden value. You can create, edit, delete and assign the tags. To me, this looks a lot like the tags you can put on Pokémon in Home.

Removed Beta Pokécoin Quest system

Niantic announced that the Pokécoin search system that was being tested in Australia, Germany, New Zealand, and Taiwan would be discontinued. As such, it has been removed from the Today screen. However, the system is still there. So it seems that they haven’t completely given up.

New game music

New game music found in the initial teardown has been added to the Game Master file.

Niantic Social

Niantic social received updates to control the minimum level to be able to access it, along with updates to show your online status, friends list, and maximum friend settings per page. This suggests that a list of friends could come to Niantic Social.

That’s it for now, coaches, stay safe.
